Maria Amato

Maria Amato is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR), where she leads national initiatives supporting Australia's independent music sector. Since joining AIR in 2008, Maria has transformed the organisation's operations and financial performance, building strategic partnerships and expanding its industry impact.

Appointed CEO in 2016, she oversees AIR’s flagship programs including the AIR Awards, Indie-Con Australia, and the Women in Music Mentor Program, helping to elevate independent artists, labels and music professionals across the country. With a background in finance and advocacy, Maria is a respected voice in the Australian music industry and a passionate champion for independent music and artist development.
